TOPIC: "SACADAS AND GANCHOS"
Duration: 20 hours
An extensive exploration of sacadas and ganchos in all their aspects. Individual technique posture, axis, weight transfers and pivots. Mechanics of the connection: achieving seamless timing in the lead/follow relationship. Geometry and improvisation: how to incorporate sacadas and ganchos in the dance. Musicality: varying the execution of the movement to achieve expressive interpretations.

March seminar: US$350/person until January 9thth, US$390/person afterward
All seminars are gender-balanced. There are three options for registration:
1) as a couple
2) as an individual, rotating among other students
3) as an individual, hiring with an advanced dancer from Buenos Aires as a partner
We highly recommend hiring an advanced dancer especially for those attending on their own. It gives our students the opportunity to focus 100% on their own learning, receiving continuous feedback throughout the 20 hours not only from us but from their knowledgeable partners as well. We can help find a suitable person to partner.
LODGING
The seminar is held in our dance studio at Tango Oasis, our guest house for tangueros. Many students opt to stay at the house since it is convenient and fun to have extra time to socialize with other participants. Find out more about Tango Oasis here!
DAILY SCHEDULE
1-3PM DAILY SESSION 1
Warm-up, technique exercises, individual and partnered drills. The first half of the day is slow, focused, and intense.
3-4PM COFFEE/LUNCH BREAK
We normally hang out as a group during the break. Everyone is welcome to join us to eat, chat and get to know each other better. This is normally the favorite part of the day!
4-6PM DAILY SESSION 2
Putting the technique in practice with different examples of movement. Focus on the lead/follow relationship, musicality, and floocraf. The second half of the day is faster-paced, fluid, and fun. At the end of the day we provide a review with all of the explanations and exercises that you can film for private use.
AFTER 6PM
Enjoy the never-ending tango activities of Buenos Aires! Concerts, shows, and of course, non stop milongas. We will organize at least one outing to a milonga as a group and a farewell dinner. Most often, participants of the seminar end up going out to the milongas together so you will have friends to share your nights out.
